When we first started thinking about purchasing a new home, we considered purchasing a spec home from a big builder or an existing home. But it was difficult to find either that fit all our needs and wants. It quickly became clear that construction of a custom home would best fulfill our desires.

Picking a floor plan and finding a lot was easy. The most daunting task was finding a builder that we would be happy with. Making changes to the home during construction is an inevitable part of the home building process. Chris implemented changes fluidly. He also offered ideas, some of which we used, some of which we didn’t, but no matter whose idea was implemented, we were left with a quality result.

Chris’ experience and passion came through every step of the way. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything that went into the project from orienting the house on the lot, to marking the final touch-ups before move in, and everything in between.

Organizing the construction timeline is one of the most impressive things Chris does. He coordinated subs so they weren’t in each others’ way and materials so they weren’t lying around for days. It resulted in such efficiency that even the neighbors commented on how quickly our house came together.

Chris knows the people in his industry both local and throughout the state. He had the right sub contractors for the job from start to finish. Our neighbors’ builders often asked about them once they noticed the high quality work they did. And, it was never anything less than high quality, because Chris settles for nothing less. He has high standards, and if the work doesn’t measure up, it’s redone, and redone by a different sub if needed.

Chris was always personally checking on progress, and seemed to be several steps ahead of the game throughout the process. He consistently kept us informed and was ready to answer any questions we had. In fact, he seemed to anticipate the questions before we even thought of them. The only surprises along the way were good ones.

When it came time to choosing light fixtures, appliances, door knobs, flooring, etc., Chris always provided information from at least a couple vendors, yet was open to anything we found on our own. Making these choices can be overwhelming. By spacing them out in the timeline and advising when requested, Chris helped make it manageable and enjoyable.

We have family, friends, and neighbors who have worked with other builders in Virginia, and none of their experiences come close to the experience we have had with Chris.
