Winn Homes was founded by Chris Winn, a native Virginian and lifetime resident. Chris moved to Charlottesville several years ago, drawn by the beauty of the surrounding countryside, and the endless outdoor activities in and around Charlottesville. The University of Virginia and the unique and vibrant urban downtown underscored the history of the town and the diversity of the population, adding to the appeal. Chris knew that he'd found the right market to build high quality homes, from the affordable downtown single family homes to Albemarle County estates, ranging in price from the low $300s to $1,500,000.
Chris has built over 60 different floor plans, both while employed by one of the top ten largest home builders in the US, and since establishing his own company. While working for his previous company, he won over a dozen awards, including Best in Production in the State of Virginia 2003.
Chris Winn firmly believes in giving back to his community, and shows this investment through sponsorship of local youth sports teams, and by serving as the Construction Superintendent for the Fluvanna Habitat for Humanity. Chris also serves on the Board of Directors for the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association.
In his free time, Chris and his wife Clare try to keep up with Bradley, their first child, who was born in December of 2006. When they aren't cooking together, swimming, or enjoying the outdoors, they head back over to Blacksburg to attend a football game at his alma mater, Virginia Tech. |
